Travel to Mexico for Honeymoon ðŸ’•âœˆï¸

Well we are finally recovered from our busy travels…Savannah first for my sister’s wedding then Mexico for our honeymoon! We were away for a total of 10 days. It was the best trip!!

Have you ever used a travel agent? We did for this trip and our agent was amazing. We had a budget we wanted to stick to, certain areas we wanted to research and travel at specific times. Global Getaways was the company and our agent is Sydney. Not only did she do the research and bring us back multiple options but she was responsive and answered all the questions and concerns we had. From pricing to hotel transfers to food reviews, room options, typical guests (young, old, partiers etc.) we were looking for romantic and stay at a reputable resort. Sydney delivered with advising us to go to Excellence Playa Mujeres!!

Since we were traveling to Savannah, Sydney booked our flights from Savannah to Atlanta to Cancun. When there were updates to the flights (there were 2 small adjustments to the departure times) she emailed us right away.

We left Savannah and caught flight to Atlanta to connect to Cancun. We flew Delta didn’t run into any issues. Our travel times lined up where we had about 2 hour layover in Atlanta so we were able to grab lunch. Atlanta airport is HUGE however signs and directions are all over the place so as long as you know your flight info you’ll be ok. I suggest getting whatever airline you are flying- get thier app so it will deliver you traveling updates and gate info. We flew Delta and used the Delta app. You can check in and pay for your checked bags ahead of time as well- we found out it makes for easier travel process!

We traveled with 2 carry ons and 2 checked bags. Once we arrived in Cancun had to go get our bags and go through customs. After we entered we were instructed by our travel agent to look for Lomas company (our transport company we booked for transportation to hotel) outside the airport- theres people that want to talk to you about timeshares as soon as you leave customs- and they are pretty aggressive. We followed instructions and found our transport company outside. Our van had air conditioning blasting and “happy hour” 2 for 1 beers lol. Our ride to hotel was about 45 minutes.
